Carlos R. Villamar is a founding partner of The Villamar Firm PLLC.* Areas of practice: Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, Licensing.
*Mr. Villamar is licensed to practice US state law in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Villamar is an experienced patent attorney who counsels domestic and international clients on patent application preparation and prosecution, opinion work, IP counseling, and litigation strategy. His practice is supported by a broad technical background in electrical engineering, computer systems, communications, artificial intelligence, digital signal processing, aerospace systems, and advanced technologies.
Before establishing The Villamar Firm PLLC, Mr. Villamar practiced intellectual property law at major national firms and served as a patent examiner in the Speech Signal Processing Group at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Before entering the legal profession, he gained over nine years of commercial engineering experience, including production design and testing for the Standard Missile Program at General Dynamics, high-speed digital logic and computer design for the Advanced Tactical Fighter Program at Hughes Aircraft Company, and research and development in high-speed digital signal processing and communications systems.
