Carlos R. Villamar Earns Three White Cards at the 2026 Azul Freediving Challenge

Villamar Firm founder Carlos R. Villamar earned three white cards — 30m Free Immersion, 30m Constant Weight with Bifins, and 23m Constant Weight Without Fins — at the 2026 Azul Freediving Challenge in Mexico.
During a September 15–30, 2026 freediving trip to Mexico, Villamar Firm founder Carlos R. Villamar participated in the 2026 Fall Edition of the Azul Freediving Challenge, including the official three-day AIDA depth competition held September 25–27 at Cenote Yum Kin in Mexico.
Carlos earned three white cards during the depth competition:
• 30 meters — Free Immersion (FIM): the diver descends and returns to the surface by pulling along the dive line, without using fins for propulsion. • 30 meters — Constant Weight with Bifins (CWTB): the diver descends and returns to the surface under his own power using a pair of fins. • 23 meters — Constant Weight Without Fins (CNF): the diver descends and returns to the surface without fins, using only swimming movements of the arms and legs.
The experience was another reminder of the value of preparation, discipline, perseverance, and continuing to challenge yourself—qualities Carlos brings to both engineering and the practice of patent law.
